Grande Range

Installation Guide

Step-by-step instructions for professional results

Substrate Requirements

Internal:

  • Suitable surfaces: Plasterboard, MDF (dry areas only), compressed fibre cement sheeting, brick, or concrete
  • Surface must be flat, clean, and dry

External:

  • Suitable surfaces: Compressed cement sheeting, exterior-grade plywood, brick, or concrete
  • Self-adhesive Brico panels not recommended outdoors
  • Priming may be required for porous or dusty surfaces

Cutting

  • Utility knife: For straight cuts (score multiple times)
  • Jigsaw or fine-toothed circular saw: For curves or high precision

⚠ Safety Warning - Silica Dust

Flexistone panels contain cement-based materials. Cutting may release respirable crystalline silica dust, which can be hazardous if inhaled.

Always follow these safety precautions:

  • Wear a P2 / N95 dust mask or respirator suitable for silica dust
  • Use safety goggles to protect eyes from fine particles
  • Wear gloves and long sleeves
  • Cut in a well-ventilated area, preferably outdoors
  • Use dust extraction or vacuum where possible

Corners & Edges

  • No pre-formed corner trims included

At external corners installers typically:

  • Butt the two corner panels together and the small gap that remains thanks to the slim panel thickness should be filled with colour-matched silicone or suitable sealant for a clean, finished appearance.
  • Use metal or colour-matched architectural trims

Window and door openings: Cut panels to fit and finish with sealant or trim

Adhesive Recommendations

Application Product Notes
Internal Liquid Nails HD, Soudal Fix All Brico range: uses self-adhesive tape (dry areas only)
External Sikaflex 11FC, Bostik Seal N Flex FC Only for Pietra & Grande ranges — NOT Brico
Tiling Glue ARDEX X 18 Fibre Reinforced Flexible Tile Adhesive It’s a cement-based mortar adhesive.
Temporary fixing Double-sided high-bond tape For dry internal walls (Pietra/Grande only)

💡 Pro Tip

For vertical applications, use bracing or painter's tape to hold panels until adhesive sets.

Spacing & Grouting

  • Panels are typically butt-jointed for seamless look
  • Grouting is not required
  • Optional: use colour-matched flexible sealant between joints for water resistance or aesthetics (especially outdoors)

Expansion Movement Notes

Flexistone panels may experience minor thermal movement due to temperature and humidity changes. When installed using construction adhesive or polymer-modified tile adhesive, movement is distributed across the adhesive layer and remains minimal.

A 1–2 mm expansion gap between panels is recommended to accommodate natural movement and ensure long-term stability. For large wall areas or exterior installations, small perimeter movement gaps should also be maintained where panels meet fixed building elements.

Care & Maintenance

Keep your Flexistone looking great for years to come

Cleaning

  • Use soft cloth or sponge with mild detergent
  • Avoid high-pressure water jets (especially on joints)
  • Do not use abrasive scrubbers or acidic cleaners

Outdoor Maintenance

Outdoor Maintenance
  • Check joints annually and reseal if needed
  • Ensure proper drainage to avoid water pooling

Repairs

  • Individual panels can be removed and replaced if damaged
  • Use same adhesive and sealant type for replacements

Tips & Warnings
